They can take those demands and shove them. The NYPD is going to ignore them and Mayor Bloomberg will support the NYPD. OWS can make lots of noise, but in the end all they will be is noise. If they cause any more trouble than noise, the NYPD will make them very sorry they did.

As mottoes go, I prefer “To Serve and Protect” to “Make Them Very Sorry They Did.”

The latter kind of grinds your nose against the Weberian “We have the monopoly on legitimate violence, nyah-nyah-nyah” of it all.
