When he says “They scoff at the name of Jesus Christ”, is he implying that Obama is the one scoffing?

I interpreted it a lot more broadly. “They” as in “the other”—i.e. any non-Christian or person who is culturally non-WASP (especially anyone bi-lingual). Naturally, that would include POTUS. Catholics & Mormons are probably considered borderline.

Oddly enough, I didn’t hear anything during the memorial service that I would consider scoffing, but then I’m a half-Hispanic, liberal, Muslim infidel, so it’s a given that my moral compass is hopelessly skewed. //

From the article:

“The spirit of anti-Christ is everywhere,” stated Graham, who noted that television networks have pushed out reporters who cover Christian-related topics. “We’re being secularized so quickly. Anything that has to do with Christian faith is slowly being taking out of society.”

Strange claim. You can’t turn on cable TV without tripping over Christian channels. Where I live, you can’t walk more than 2-3 blocks blocks without encountering a church.

Below is a list of the Christian churches I was able to find listed in my little township, which covers a whopping area of just over 2 square miles, with a population of about 33K:

8 Baptist
4 Church of God
3 Catholic
2 Episcopalian
2 A.M.E. (African Methodist Episcopal)
1 Presbyterian
1 Methodist
1 Greek Orthodox
1 Apostolic
1 Assembly of God
1 Church of Christ
1 Seventh-day Adventist
1 Pentecostal
12 Non-denominational and/or Evangelical (some are just those tiny little store-front churches, others are quite large)

By my count that’s 39 churches, which works out to approximately 1 church for every 846 residents, all of whom are obviously not Christian. I have never seen, heard of, nor could I locate one single Hindu or Buddhist temple, synagogue, or mosque (though there are several mosques and synagogues in neighboring towns). And this is on the liberal, godless East Coast, a less than 20-minute train ride from the great Sodom & Gomorrah that is NYC. Doesn’t seem to me like Christianity is in danger of disappearing from our society any time soon.

Speaking of NYC, take a gander at how many churches exist there—note that some are split into 2 lists because there are so many):

Manhattan - List 1, List 2
Brooklyn - List 1, List 2
Queens - No single list as Queens is designated by neighborhood (as per USPS)
Bronx
Staten Island

Methinks that if Christianity is losing its grip on American society, then maybe, just maybe, it’s because it’s no longer resonating with Christians or offering them practical spiritual solutions to the modern problems they face. Oh, and maybe if the pastors would stop inserting themselves into national politics and chasing after secular power, then perhaps they could find more time to do the type of work that Jesus (a.s.) did.
