You’re right that the NH and IA deadlines have passed, but if she had any intention of running, she’d need to get her name on the ballot for the February and March primaries, and I think that some of those have already passed as well.

As some news reports indicated back in October, candidates entering the race late (after October) have no chance of winning because they have no time to set up a ground game. Fox News is feeding the notion that someone could enter late and still have a shot, particularly if Mitt stumbles.

And even then, there’s typically a deadline for getting the name on the ballot that is 3-months prior to the voting date - so a March ballot would require a pre-January submission. It would take a concerted effort to have a write-in ballot to overcome that.
