Europe is in the throes of an historic deep freeze across most all of the continent which actually proves one of the long predicted effects of a warming planet and melting ice caps. That ocean currents called the conveyor belt would be altered by the increased fresh water melt and decreased ice cover and these would disrupt the delivery of heat via ocean currents to Europe, most of which is further North than the United States.
