They have to get 67 votes to convict Trump. 45 Republicans said no today. That means it’s very unlikely he’ll be convicted unless something changes drastically.
I want a conviction, but I also want the testimony that comes out to cause that few percent of conservatives I know to decide that they can’t be in the current Republican party. That would be enough to seriously damage the party in 2022 and 2024.
