Could depend on who gets to decide if the access was authorized. If she had been kidknapped, or had died, for example, any over-eager prosecutor could easily make a case against you, I suppose. That’s basically what happened to Aarron Swartz. And in that case, it was not the University that was pushing for criminal charges.
