I can attest that when it became my turn to be “downsized” after 27 years with my former employer, my fellow downsizees were all – with one exception – white, male, 40-50ish, with an average of about 20 years with the company. The demographics of the surviving group were mostly 30-somethings, 60% male, and about 50% Asian (including many H1B’s).
