No new info unfortunately. It only says he was “weeded out” during the first round. I think he either faked a condition, or simply told them that he wasn’t motivated for service at all. Sometimes that’s enough.

In the old days (up until the 90s/00s) pretty much everyone was drafted. That is, unless they had serious conditions or were conscious objectors (which just meant that they had to do 14 months “civil service” instead of 12 months in the military.) These days, there’s only a small percentage of 18/19-year olds who get drafted, so naturally the military prefer to draft those who are actually motivated. If you simply tell them that you’re not the least bit motivated, chances are good that you won’t get drafted. Maybe that’s what Breivik did?
