I’m sorry to go back to this point, but I’ve been going over Riehl’s “schoolyard fight” story in my head and I just can’t find any logic behind whatsoever.
I remember playground fights in grade school. We didn’t give a crap about race, it was just “oh, this big kid is going to fight this little kid at recess, who do you think is going to win?”
Sometimes, a friend would jump in to help someone, but it had nothing to do with race.
I also love how he leaves out the natural conclusion to most schoolyard fights: A trip to the principal’s office and/or a stern talking to from your parents. Translation: Fights, whether racially driven or not SHOULD and most often DO have consequences.
Apparently, the only thing that matters to Dan Riehl is what side you’re on.
I don’t even use Twitter and I’m considering signing up just to fire back at Dan a little bit. This is nuts.
