The momentum of the “Bundy thing” will only grow before the election. It isn’t really even all about Bundy, nor is Bundy necessary for their movement to continue. Essentially, Bundy gave this group a shot in the arm and made them visible. In one respect we should feel fortunate, because until Bundy the majority chose to isolate themselves. Now everyone can witness the simmering crockpot of crazy that’s been on the QT the whole time.

And the GOP will have to choose between distancing itself from them and alienating the base or (at least tacitly) accepting them and alienating everyone who is not bat-shit crazy and armed to the teeth.

And I would like to think that the latter group is still the majority in our country.
