Don’t beat yourself up about it. There probably was, maybe even is, a little bit of decency. Problem is, with all things wingnut, the tendency is toward inertia - the more he moved to the derp side, the greater the tendency to continue toward the derp side. Unfortunately, he seems to have given up on the lone moderating influence.
