Just a drive by before LOST.

Holy moly… so last Sunday I worked my first 4 hours at the store, had one of the best cashiers in the place training me.

Today I walk in from my shift… they put me on a register WITHOUT anyone to hold my hand… I’m thinking, this is going to be flying by the seat of my pants.

“Hi… did you find everything you need? Do you need any stamps… ice… wood pellets, it’s going to get cold tonight.”

“Hi… did you find everything you need? Did you find everything you didn’t need. Can I get you some stamps, ice… small furry critters.”

“Hi… did you find everything you need? Did you find everything you didn’t need. Can I get you some stamps, ice… we have a special on road kill.”

“Hi… did you find everything you need? Did you find everything you didn’t need. Can I get you some stamps, ice… would you like to adopt a child.”

Seriously… I said these things… they instructed me to “engage” the customers (or was that to get “engaged” to the customers)… so, I’m going to be the worlds first “stand up cashier.”

“Do you want paper or plastic… or shall I just toss the stuff in the general direction of your vehicle?” (no, I didn’t use that line).
