Fine, you keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better. You keep telling yourself that you were innovative. I love to hear about the “compromises” that people will make, in place of just doing right.

Unfortunately, just doing whats right has no place in government budgeting and accounting. I was once ordered I had 1 hour to produce 3000 yards of CAT 5 cable to supply to prove that we had it. This was just after we had rewired an entire battalion and supporting units around Camp Lejeune. No one in supply wanted to hear it had been cut up, spliced and used up. They expected to see cable spools all nice and neat they could account for and weren’t going to accept any other answer.

They finally got the message when I had my team start going thru their offices pulling out the wiring and laying it out in the supply bay.
