Another thought. LEO’s are trained in the use of weapons. They aren’t civilians. Any time they draw a weapon, it’s a premeditated act. The use of that weapon proves intent. If they kill someone, it is a homicide, by definition, and it should be investigated as a homicide.

If your defense is that you “feared for your life”, shouldn’t you have to prove that the black man who said that he had a concealed carry license and was armed, sitting in his car with his hands on the steering wheel, when you shot him to death was actually a threat? When he didn’t reach for his gun because he knew that that was death sentence? That wasn’t a police action, that was an execution.

Shouldn’t they all be held to a higher standard than civilians? And if not, why not?

Because we’ve decided that since they are cops putting their lives on the line to defend us white folks, the courts will show them extreme deference when they decide to kill scary brown people.
