At it’s purest, Buddhism is not a religion. It’s a diamond-hard dialectic that cuts through what it deems to be the illusionary nature of reality.

Yeah, this is kinda sorta true. It’s more a way of life than a religion as others are. Still…

Not at all!

Evidence is in the eye of the beholder. There are many very religious scientists who believed in a higher power- Einstein among them.

For example, I’m a huge proponent of evolution. For me, evolution is proof of the magnitude of Creation. I see no conflict with belief in God and evolution, not unlike those religious scientists.

Please don’t try to claim Einstein as a theist. It’s disingenuous at best.

I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.

A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty - it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude; in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man.

I believe in Spinoza’s God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fates and actions of human beings.
