The Elk_eater guy that I’ve been jousting with on Twitter about Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill was trying to convince me that Jackson was a Democrat that modern Dems would love. Then after a bit I said his insistence that all Dems were bad and all GOP presidents were good was too simplistic. He agreed, but said libertarians would be way better.

Another True Believer.

I love that about libertarians. They think they would do so much better but we’ve got so few examples of them actually running anything much less successfully. I understand the frustrations of third parties and the desire to have their voice heard but what pisses me off is these third parties who only run candidates for governor, senator, or president. Take Virginia last time. The Virginia LP could have easily nominated someone for Lt Governor and AG but did not. I think they forfeit some of their complaints about the two party system by doing that.
