re: #114 EPR-radar

The funny thing about the Iraq war for me is that the run-up to that war was at the time I was switching from lean R to yellow dog D. So I think I had an unusually neutral frame of mind during that time, and I was struck by the persistence of the Bushie war mongers.

Every few days they would spit out a different reason why we supposedly had to go to war in Iraq, and when the public reaction was tepid they just moved onto the next narrative.

Of course the one that eventually stuck was “WMDs in Iraq, we’re all gonna die!” sold in part by Colin Powell trashing his credibility for the benefit of GOP liars.

I started to also make the turn when Bush’s shadow president and his crew started to put extreme pressure on the methodical inspectors to get out before their work was done. But if I’m honest, they played me well with Judith Miller and the non-stop loops of Saddam’s evil (a real thing) and his treatment of both the Kurds and the people who lived in the marsh areas (as I recall).
