On a personal note, I got my first Shingrix shingles vaccine yesterday. I spent this afternoon lying down, absolutely exhausted. Not sick, not sleepy, just absolutely no energy. Apparently this is what is described as “fatigue” amongst the various possible side effects. One in six people get side effects that are debilitating for 2 or 3 days.
If you’re over 50, by all means get your Shingrix-no one wants shingles, but you might consider not doing it right before you need to do something important. Can’t wait to see what happens after the second one in a couple months…

Got my second shot a couple of weeks ago, first shot last fall.
Don’t recall exhaustion as a noticeable side effect, but I was a caregiver for years, exhaustion was my default setting. First shot, sore arm and a low-level flu-ish feeling for a few days; second shot, really sore arm for almost a week but had an abscessed tooth flare up so that masked any other symptoms.

Worth it anyway. I had a mild case of shingles about age 50 and they manifested in the left optic nerve. Do NOT want to do that again.
