My “trick” is to select a first word which has the most common consonants and vowels. I had to switch first words when that came up as the word and I got a 1/6.

I’ll mix up my first word now, but usually start with “aisle,” “train,” or “storm.”

On Heardle, the only think I can think of is have an encyclopaedic knowledge of popular and rock music, especially after the Nineties.
