Why can’t these people get it through their heads that nothing in evolutionary theory says we descended from monkeys? Why is it that they can’t wrap their brains that at some distant point in the past we had common ancestors with chimps (when we weren’t chimps *or* humans), with birds (when we weren’t humans or birds), &c. Right back to the formation of life on Earth.

I’m not a scientist, nor do I have any great understanding of science, but here is something that I came across at some point in my life, that always fascinated me - look at how the embryos of various vertebrates are so incredibly similar esp in the very early stages. How can anyone see this sort of information and not realize that somewhere, wayyyyyy back, there was a common thread to all of these?
