I think the vast majority of us did as well. My parents sent me to the Nuns when a particular school district near wherever my Da was stationed sucked, but that was only 3 years of elementary school.

People look at inner city schools and apply the broad on all “socialist schools”. By and large most folks are happy with the public school systems in which their kids are enrolled.

I did not grow up in the inner city… I am a transplant.
