Like CBS radio’s Charlie Jones. Harrison is a pretentious right wing blowhard who pretends to know a great deal more than he does. He is a laughingstock among aviation buffs for his frequent errors about that subject, and the assured, confident tone with which he asserts his ignorance. He challenged the authenticity of a P-38 pilot’s Mediterranean theater flight jacket because he was “pretty sure” P-38s were “Pacific only.” Of course, P-38s were heavily used in the Med and even casual buffs will know this. This is not something I would expect the general public to know but someone claiming expert knowledge off top of his head should have at least the cursory facts.

You can’t get much more “general” than me, but I know that. If it was Pacific-only, why did the Germans call it Der Gabelschwanz Teufel?
