Go ahead, keep killing each other and berating anyone who doesn’t phrase things in exactly the order and with the precise wording one side or the other prefers. Accuse people of dishonesty, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, supporting terrorism, apartheid, genocide or whatever other ridiculously hyperbolic, inflammatory crap the partisans toss around.

Carry on with your framing, talking points, finger pointing, and pretending all the blame lies on the other side—whichever side isn’t yours—because yours is righteous and good and theirs is evil. And keep expecting people who aren’t directly involved in your dispute to feel as strongly as you do about it. I mean, that strategy has obviously worked SO well to solve the problem up until now, right?

Bottom line: It’s not my stupid fight. I didn’t create the problem. No one in my family, no one that I love, is going to suffer or die because of it. You guys are so blinded by your hatred for each other than you can’t see what your behavior looks like to the rest of the people on the planet, most of whom have no dog in this fight and have their own problems to deal with.
