I’m old enough to remember when the United States invoked Article 5 of the NATO treaty in the aftermath of the worst terrorist atrocity in American history.

And now, less than two decades later, our Secretary of State replies with, “I’m not going to get into hypotheticals” when asked if America would come to the aid of our NATO allies should they be in their hour of need.

I can only assume that Vladimir Putin will be sleeping quite well for the foreseeable future.

It disgusts me because while I doubt Trump knows the extent they helped after 9/11, Pompeo should. I know he got out a decade before 9/11 but still.
