A perfect example of the presumptuousness and arrogance of American evangelicals. It’s so important that they “minister” to others that doing so under false pretenses doesn’t cross their minds as immoral.

Let’s get one thing clear: whether you’re Al Gore or just the average pointy headed liberal, there’s no way you can be as arrogant as most religious zealots, our evangelicals included.

The most arrogant thing the liberal does is tell the conservative he’s stupid and backwards. The conservative, on the other hand, condemns the liberal to hell for all eternity. Pretty big difference. And a total dealbreaker for me.

I’m going to disagree with that. The most arrogant thing some (but not all) liberals do is to think that they know better than other people how to run those other people’s lives. That is close to what you were saying, but in my mind better captures the arrogance of it.
