It’s worse than that, in a way. Or rather, the fitness landscape of an unregulated economy is one where the most ‘fit’ companies are those that cut the most corners and pass on as much cost as they can to others, in the form of environmental pollution, overworking employees, using shoddy materials, etc. etc.
