Why don’t we just call it their Stalingrad then?

The republican’s went into it with the wind at their backs (2010 elections) but they kept expecting their opponents to just roll over and die for them, and kept pouring supplies into the fire long past the point that they were only going to end up wasting a lot of resources and looking like complete idiots.

(Or is is that comparison a Godwin violation?)
