Maybe- women perpetuate the patriarchy. But we’re digressing. The point is it could be self-hate on the part of this guy. Maybe he hates his parents (one of them or both) and this is his way of acting out. It could be other psychological issues- who knows?

Oppressed groups often collaborate in their own oppression by identifying with the oppressor. They ally themselves with power, basically. It’s about self-loathing on one level and about the need to become like the oppressor on the other.
