I don’t think importing is the correct word. One imports wine not relatives.

I don’t know. My ex-wife imported her whole yahoo clan from the Texas Panhandle to Massachusetts for our daughter’s wedding. I was afraid they would break something in the exquisitely restored colonial church and I would have to pay for it.
Among other things, the ex got drunk at the reception, approached my mother, and whined, “Mom, I get the feeling you don’t like me!”
My mom responded, “After 25 years you’re just starting to figure this out?”
Fortunately, my daughter was blissfully unaware of this scene.
