Way off topic about Assad but I am pretty sure Assad is being stubborn because his people, the Alawites don’t want to live under Saudi Arabian, Muslim Brotherhood backed Sunni fundamentalists. If Assad dies tonight the Alawites would still carry on the Ba’athist state (as would sizable Sunni secularists and Christian Syrians).

But, you know, in American eyes all problems can be solved by killing the dictator and thus ending the problem…simple narratives for simple people.
