Quick hit before a quick dog walk (and I do mean “quick”; currently 97° here the land of Springsteen): I saw an article on the Daily Beast on how Oliver Stone has become an official flack/lickspittle/PR department for one Vlad Putin. The article included the genuinely gross note that Stone asked Putin to be his 22 year old daughter’s godfather.

I just don’t understand how these people like Stone and Ed Schultz go off the fucking rails like this. I mean, is there kompromat Putin has on Stone? The motherfucker makes movies over three decades decrying against governments and their leaders abusing their power and their people. Then he cozies up to someone who is the walking definition of everything he goes against.

Try wrapping your mind around this: for years, conservatives and Republicans have told Stone if he hates the US so much, he should move to Russian. Now, the same conservatives and Republicans who told Stone that are embracing Russia at the same time Stone is.
