Looks like that came out in May of 2009. The New York Times has been talking about this for over a year. This isn’t the first time they mentioned going to payed content. I remember when Salon did that and I just stopped reading it (a site I was interested at one time). Now they’re back to being free. If the NYT goes to payed content I’ll simply stop going there.

they’re just putting their feelers out…once they see how they’ve been mocked at LGF, expect a reversal in a few weeks
