The only real question is how many people she’ll drive into the Obama column when they’d ordinarily vote Republican. I had lifelong conservative and/or Republican friends either vote Obama or stay home just at the possibility of her being a heartbeat away. Sarah as the GOP nominee for the Presidency? That might just make my friends pull the trigger for Obama without any hesitation at all.

Exactly. I stayed home in 2008. If Palin is the GOP nominee in 2012, I will vote D for president for the first time in my life. She will get a Mondale-style electoral beat down.
