Yeah, I couldn’t believe that when I heard it either. How is the Obama administration even suppose to respond to things like this?

That is actually the point. It is rhetorically equivalent to accusing someone of beating their wife. There is nothing to do except deny the false charge while those who like the person defend him and those that don’t, spread the rumor.

The fact that this rumor is designed to disenfranchise black people while fanning the racist fears of rubes is not lost on GOP strategists. It is also not lost on you or me. However, it is lost on the rubes who begin to think that”where there is smoke, there is fire.”
