And it’s a lot more complicated than just rising from the top to the bottom. Education itself can be a barrier, even where you went to school. A fast food worker is not going to become CEO of the company or rise above store mgr, even with a college degree, if s/he doesn’t have the “right” connections, much less get into the corporate structure. Ambition shouldn’t be the only criteria for success, but it appears to be more and more.
