I’ve been experimenting with different cheaper bourbons and scotches, trying to find something that balances tasting good and not breaking the bank. Bulleitt is definitely good-tasting, and the price isn’t outrageous. I might take it for my regular stock.

You should try Jim Beam Black. My favorite is Woodford for Bourbon. I don’t know much about Scotch. On my birthdays when I could afford to I have purchased Balvenie 12 (their basic) and Talisker Storm last year. I really wanted to and should have gone completely peaty. Not this birthday because I can’t afford it (a PBR birthday) but sometime in the future.
