It was interesting to hear Mark Mothersbaugh and Joe Walsh talk to Marc Maron on his podcast (separate interviews) WTF. Both of them went to Kent State and talked about it. It sounded like a pretty amazing college and town right up until the events and then it all kind of shrank and was never the same, according to them.

Chrissy Hynde also mentioned it in Reckless - My Time as a Pretender as she was around Kent at that time too. Kent was the major metro/commuter school for the Cleveland/Akron area and was strong in the liberal arts.
