That’s the kind of thing that makes me not completely anti-religion. It’s not for me but I do think religion is capable of good things. I don’t see it as a whole evil.

That’s what helped quell a substantial amount of anti-Muslim feeling among Armenians.

The Assyrians and Chaldeans didn’t have that because even after being surviving the killings by Turks in Anatolia, in Iraq they were still subjected to massacres in the 1930s (Simile Massacre of 1933 comes to mind) and didn’t really enjoy a lot of benefits until the Baathists came to power.
