While the story I posted doesn’t mention where she was when she shot, this one does.
A sixth-grade girl hid from a home intruder in her bathroom closet, clenching a pistol. When she saw the handle turn, the 12-year-old fired a hole through the door into the suspect’s chest.

Good for her.

This is just the sort of anecdote the NRA lives to relate. But for every incidence of that, we have several incidences of young children shooting themselves or others accidentally or maliciously.
