Back when I was a Sanders supporter during the 2016 primaries (I got better), I considered the ārevolutionā rhetoric to be metaphorical.
Now Iām not so sure. He sounds more and more like he wants a real one; a popular uprising against āthe establishmentā to overthrow, well, something.
Popular uprisings tend to be very messy and often bloody. Iād much rather bend the moral arc toward justice (to rip off Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King) rather than break it.
I agree. I too took it to be a metaphor during the period I supported him but the further the campaign got the more Trotskyite the Berniebroās sounded. I have had the displeasure of dealing with Maoists, Trotskyites, and Stalinists and Iāll stick to Mike Harringtonās vision of the left instead.
