Years ago, when I was working in South San Francisco, there was a fire on Mt San Bruno. I watched a couple times as helicopters with those buckets flew in and dumped water.

Each time, from my vantage point, it looked like they missed by a mile, but each time it went right onto the fireline. I guess the pilot knew what he was doing.
