re: #12 Eclectic Infidel

I agree that the U.S. should not inject its politics into the settlements issue, and that Israel has a right to defend itself as it sees fit. And the U.S. govt SHOULD cease giving aid to countries hostile to us, especially those with human rights abuses within their own countries.

Agreed, except when someone is running for a seat in the U.S. Congress, then whatever is in the best interests of the U.S. should be foremost. I haven’t looked for more info on him to see what else he says, but what’s in the JPost article says virtually nothing about what he’d do for America. If he were running for a seat in the Knesset, then fine, be all about what’s best for Israel—that’s your job.

That said, the notion that the U.S. is becoming Islamic in nature is absurd. I see many Muslim folk around these parts and if anything, they are adapting to this melting pot of a culture of ours. iPods, cell phones, cigarettes, uncovered legs, fraternizing with members of the opposite sex, eating bacon (my Turkish friend), etc.

The Pamela Geller stance holds no water.

It is absurd, but I’ve seen quite a few absurdities become reality over the past couple of years. I no longer rule anything out where wingnuts are concerned.
