Fighter jets force plane to land at Manassas Airport
Two fighter jets forced a Cessna to land at Manassas Airport this afternoon after the pilot violated airspace over Washington, military officials said.The grounds of the White House were evacuated as two F-16s intercepted the Cessna 182 after it traveled 17 miles in the no-fly zone.
Residents around Prince William County and Manassas heard and saw the plane and jets as they headed west into Manassas.
The plane landed at the airport at 2:30 p.m.
A witness in Lake Ridge said he saw the fighter jets following the plane and the jet pilots were acting “very aggressive.”
