The existing drive is a different size (320GB), so I can’t clone it. Creating/restoring backups in Windows takes forever, but then having to reinstall Windows and all my apps could take a week… *shudder*

You can clone it, depending on the software you are using. Going from a small drive to larger drive is OK, it’s the other way around that can be a problem.
