I have been taking hydrocodone for arthritis pain but FDA reclassified as Schedule II so it’s now impossible to get a prescription filled.

Somebody watched too many episodes of the “Dr. House” show and decided that people have to be protected from Teh Eeville painkilling drugs.

Certainly seems like there should be a happy medium between trying to reduce the hundreds of thousands of annual deaths from these drugs (much more than all illegal drugs combined) and making sure people with a legitimate need for these drugs can still get them.
