That likely wasn’t the only reason, but going after Islam is more fraught than going after Christianity. A sign like that would be taken as “encouraging apostasy”, and as such would draw extremist fatwas and possible terrorist attacks.

If they were Muslims, yes, it could lead to some serious fatwa flinging. But as was pointed out in an earlier post, Geller’s anti-Islam ads did not bring and jet liners crashing on his head…
