I would guess he’s buying time while he tries to find someone who isn’t a total joke, like Piers Morgan or Jose Canseco (or Jared), willing to accept the position. It would be a massive humiliation to Trump if he has to admit that no-one wants to be his CoS.

And since he is obviously pressured to choose a new Chief of Staff and no one really wants the job what he is going to end up with is a total joke.

There is no way around it now. The whole White House is radioactive.

Anyone that takes any position from now on will also be a joker.
