Well, his article was a high profile “fuck you” to Obama. It wasn’t a mistake he knew what he was doing. I assume he might have political aspirations. Wingnuts will instantly love and defend anyone who publicly insults or embarrasses the President so I think that might have been his motivation.

Doesn’t that require an awful lot of psychological insight into the man to assume this is all about getting into elected office?
