I don’t see that as the root of the impass. that’s just what harry Reid and his staff have been saying. I find their chatter self-serving. In any case, cutting this spending will be a step in the right direction, and both sides can properly call the final agreement a compromise.

What did the GOP compromise? Seriously, what did they give up? What cuts where painful for them?
