Bathroom Panic has been a great distraction for Republican politicians in Texas.

Yeah, but that’s sort of a retread of the Great Gay Scaremongering of the 80s and early 90s. oh muh gawdzzz! we can’t be havin’ some gay boy teachin the PE, they’ll be seeing our boys naked in the locker room… and ya just know them lezbianas are going to be lookin at our gurls in the showers!!!

This is a new angle which is really weird (to me at least) because I can’t imagine any male athlete would be willing to sit out a year to undergo hormone therapy as part of a transition just so they could win a competition. And that’s basically how they try and frame these stories for their audience… a cross-dressing guy just trying to beat up on women in sports.
